The Super 4 isn’t perfect. It’s desperate for a wider bar and deserves lighter equipment to cut its overall weight as soon as you can afford it. However, none of this hides the fact that the Super 4 delivers masses of fun and easy speed right from the ?rst taut, tight tracking pedal stroke to the end of every high velocity play down the woods or ton-up marathon.

The bike feels light initially, so much so that our test riders found themselves bouncing the top tube between their thighs after stepping over. At 24 and a half pounds the Mount Vision is much lighter then its beefy exterior would indicate at a glance. Standing on the ground while looking over the Easton’s riser bar makes the Marin feel a bit more All Mountain in nature.

This bike can take a pounding and still ride fine. I've taken it off drops and all and never seems to have a problem. However the forks are not strong and bottom out all the time. Rear hub is very easily damaged, would recommed that hubs get replaced after a year. All in all a great bike for those who are begining and need something that will last them a long time.

Things to remember:
Always wear a helmet. If you think you're too cool for it, five minutes on any of these trails will help you realize that if you're bare-headed, you're in the minority. Always bring water. Especially in the heat, which is even more wicked when you're exerting yourself. For a whole day out, one or two water bottles are not enough. Either wear a backpack with water bottles inside, or get a fancy Camelbak, an insulated waterbag you wear on your back.
